Elegant Chardonnay From the South of France
The range of terroir in the Languedoc-Roussillon region in Southern France shape the winemaking philosophy of the region and Robin Goldsmith tells us about two visionary winemakers of the region over at The Alchohol Professor. Laurent Delaunay and Nerida Abbott take full advantage of the uniquely harsh weather conditions and range of soil types. They created a boutique winery – Abbotts & Delaunay – producing top wines that truly reflect the character of the region.
One of Robin’s favorites from the winery, Zéphyr Chardonnay AOC Limoux, is a mixture of hearty ancient vines growing in three different vineyard areas. The wine can be described as mineral and floral with both fresh and dried fruit. An excellent choice for the discerning palate.
